We have received complaints about an email from PayPal about an order being placed with Summit Racing Equipment®.

If you receive an email like this, please do not click any of the links or reply to the email. It's a scam.

These emails contain clues that will let you know it's fake:

  1. The email starts with "Hello [your email address]".
  2. The email for Summit Racing Equipment® customer service department is listed as "CustomerService@Support.SummitRacings.com"

First, any legitimate email from PayPal will address you by your first and last name, or business name. If the message starts with your email address, that is a red flag. Also, there is no "s" at the end of "SummitRacing" in any of our email addresses.

If you receive an email like this:

  1. Forward the email to spoof@paypal.com.
  2. Tag it as spam.
  3. Delete it.
