Benefits

These engines all use the same engine block as the Corvette LS2. They have a 4.000 in. cylinder bore and internal oil passages for AFM, even if it wasn't used. The cylinder walls are thicker than the 6.2L engines. That means they can handle more boost and around 1,000 hp.

The cylinder heads are great too!

  • The LS2, LFA, and LZ1 all use the same cathedral port heads as the LS6 and LS2.
  • The L76 used the same rectangle port heads as the LY6 and L96 and L92 and L9H.

What's the difference?

The easiest way to tell the difference is to check the 8th digit of the VIN code.

The difference between the engines is the heads and the special technology used on each one.
